1. SHIRLEY HEIGHTS

Shirley Heights - Antigua

Shirley Heights offers THE MOST SPECTACULAR (490ft high) view of the Nelson’s Dockyard, Falmouth Harbour and English Harbour. Today, it is a restored military lookout and gun battery.

Every Sunday from 4PM, Shirley Height’s plays host to Antigua’s best sunset party featuring live steel bands, local Caribbean flavored music and international hits. The bar, BBQ, new friends all make for the most memorable of nights.

The Lookout was first used during the War of American Independence (1774-1783) as a signal station and lookout over English Harbour. Fortifications were commissioned to be built  in 1781 by Sir Thomas Shirley (Govenor-in-Chief of The Leeward Islands), to protect the Naval Dockyard.

2. NELSONS DOCKYARD

Nelsons Dockyard - Antigua

Nelson’s Dockyard, named after Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758 – 1805), is a UNSECO World Heritage Site is a fully restored 18th century British Naval Base.

Today, it serves as a marina and home to world famous events including Antigua Sailing Week, Antigua Charter Yacht Meet, and a number of cultural festivals.

The dockyard forms part of the Nelson’s Dockyard National Park which comprises of historic forts, hiking trails, scenic park, waterfront/marina, shops and lots more.

3. DEVIL’S BRIDGE

Devil's Bridge - Antigua

Devil’s Bridge is an arched, rock formation carved of limestone after millions of years of natural wave action powered by the forces of westerly Trade Winds. 

It features a hallmark bridge-like structure, surrounded by active blow holes and glorious sea spray. Don’t miss nearby attractions such as Long Bay, Indian Town Point, Sting Ray City and more.

This National Park site is located outside the village of Willikies.

4. HALF MOON BAY

Halfmoon Bay - Antigua

Often awarded among the Caribbean’s best beaches, this rugged and unspoiled mile long secluded beach is located on the island’s Atlantic Coast.

A favourite with kite surfers and phtographers, it features a hallmark crescent shape, complete with crystal clear turquoise waters, bordered by must see rock formations.

Perfect for day long picnics and family outings.

5. ST. JOHN’S CATHEDRAL

St John's Cathedral - Antigua

The St. John’s Cathedral, located on a hilltop in the heart of St. John’s, is the third incarnation of an Anglican church.

First built in 1845 on top of a bed of fossilized reef, it was destroyed in earthquakes of 1683 and 1745.

It is now an architectural, cultural and historic landmark, offering panoramic views.

6. BETTY’S HOPE

Betty’s Hope is a 17th century plantation located in the parish of Saint Peter. It once served as the islands largest, most modern and efficient sugar cane producer on the island.

Starting in 1990, The windmill, cane crusher and sails have been restored. It’s cotton store room now houses an open air museum exhibiting plantation artifacts, plans, maps and more.
